Supporting Male Fertility with Expert Diagnosis's and Care

Comprehensive Testing. Personalised Solutions. Focused on Your Goals.

We understand that fertility challenges affect both partners — and up to half of all infertility cases may involve male factors.

At our fertility practice, we offer confidential, thorough, and compassionate

evaluation to identify possible causes and guide you toward the most effective pathway to parenthood.

Step 1 – Personal History C Lifestyle Review

Your journey starts with a detailed discussion about:

  • Childhood growth and development
  • Sexual development and history
  • Past illnesses or infections (such as mumps)
  • Previous surgeries (e.g., hernia repair) or injuries to the reproductive area
  • Medications and potential environmental exposures (radiation, chemicals, alcohol, steroids, chemotherapy)
  • Any past fertility testing or treatment outcomes

This helps us build a complete picture while tailoring the right next steps — all within a private, respectful setting.

Step 2 – Physical Examination

A physical assessment may include:

  • Height, weight, and body composition
  • Skin and hair pattern review (to check for hormone-related changes)
  • Examination of the genitals and, if needed, chest area
  • Looking for signs of testosterone deficiency (e.g., reduced facial hair, smaller testicular size)
  • Checking for conditions such as varicocele, absent vas deferens, or thickened epididymis
Step 3 – Semen Analysis

The semen test is a key part of male fertility evaluation. It assesses:

  • Semen volume
  • Sperm count (number)
  • Sperm movement (motility)
  • Sperm shape (morphology) Preparing for the test:
  • Avoid ejaculation for about three days before collection
  • Ideally, provide the sample at our clinic’s collection room
  • If collected at home in a sterile container, deliver to the lab within one hour If the first test is abnormal, a repeat analysis is often arranged a few weeks later.
Step 4 – Hormone C Blood Testing

If low sperm counts or hormone imbalance is suspected, we may check:

  • Testosterone
  • Luteinising Hormone (LH)
  • Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH)
  • Prolactin
Step 5 – Specialised Tests (If Needed)

Some men require additional investigations, which may include:

  • Genetic testing — to identify Y-chromosome changes or inherited conditions like cystic fibrosis gene mutations; genetic counselling is offered to discuss family implications
  • Retrograde ejaculation testing — checking urine after ejaculation for sperm
  • Testicular biopsy — removing a small tissue sample by fine-needle aspiration or minor surgery to determine if sperm are being produced and to assess for

possible blockage
